Norman B. Gaylis, M.D., F.A.C.P., F.A.C.R.

Norman B. Gaylis is recognized as one of this country's leaders in the field of arthritis and related diseases, and is a practicing rheumatologist based in Miami, Florida.  Dr. Gaylis has presented numerous scientific papers at medical meetings around the world and, is the author of a number of research articles on rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus. 

Actively involved in on-going clinical research trials studying a variety of arthritis drugs and other treatments, Dr. Gaylis was/is a principal investigator in the research of over 100 new pharmaceutical products for the treatment of Rheumatoid arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Osteoporosis, Systemic Lupus, Lupus Nephritis, Gout, and Sjogren's syndrome.

The recipient of many awards and honors, Dr. Gaylis is an active member of the American College of Rheumatology, for which he served on the Council of Rheumatology Care.  Dr. Gaylis contributed and edited "Lupus Lifeline", a publication of the Dade-Broward Lupus Foundation.  He hosted "HEALTHTALK", a weekly radio program on Florida radio for many years, and writes a monthly column for the local community newspaper. 

Dr. Gaylis is a medical graduate of the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa, and completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Rheumatology in Miami.  He is the owner and chief operating partner of Arthritis & Rheumatic Disease Specialties.  He was a past President of the Florida Society of Rheumatology. He is a regularly featured speaker nationally and internationally on multiple topics in Rheumatology including the use of EMRI technology in Rheumatoid Arthritis for which he is internationally known.
